Have No Place

The Republican nominees for the Guilford Board of Education are promoting an extremist agenda based on lies and rooted in White supremacist propaganda. The claim that the enormous inequities in opportunity, wealth, education, and justice in our country are not perpetuated by systemic racism is demonstrably false and inspired by the desire to maintain the status quo. The claim that learning about social inequities and their origins is “telling kids that they are racist” is ludicrous and inspired by the same awful motivation.

In a leaked and widely disseminated internal email, one of the organizers of this radical group wrote that critics of their agenda “fundamentally hate our country, or they are useful idiots for the people who hate our country and want to destroy it.” Really? With this agenda and mindset, they have no place on the Board of Education. I encourage your readers to support our excellent schools, teachers, and administrators by supporting the Independent and Democratic BOE candidates who actually do care about quality education.
