Experience and Expertise

It has been my privilege to have been Westbrook’s town clerk for 16 years and I am seeking re-election. I have the experience, knowledge, and dedication that Westbrook residents need in this important position, and I will continue to provide the town and its residents the high level of service that they have come to expect.

I am a proud member of the Westbrook community, have raised my family here, and have served the town in several positions. However, the service I provide as everyone’s town clerk is what I value most. Since my election in 2005, I have trained with the New England Municipal Clerk’s Institute and Academy and have become a certified Connecticut town clerk and a “certified municipal clerk” through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. I continue to be an active member of the Connecticut Town Clerk’s Association, New England Municipal Clerk’s Association, and International Institute of Municipal Clerks.

As a certified municipal town clerk, I have expertise in all aspects of this office: state statutes, legislative updates, elections, absentee ballots, land recordings, vital records including birth and death records, updating town ordinances, recording town meetings, and issuing licenses for marriages, trade names, dog ownership, hunting and fishing, plus much more. This level of experience and expertise provides everyone in Westbrook with the highest level of service and cannot be duplicated without years of ongoing education. I have obtained grants over the years from the Connecticut State Library to help preserve Westbrook’s past and protect our town’s future.

As Westbrook’s town clerk, I provide courtesy, competency, kindness, and efficiency to everyone, and it will be my privilege to continue to do so. I encourage your readers to support me with their votes on Nov. 2.
