Good Things Happen

On Sept. 11, Chester Rotary hosted its 50th Lobster Festival fundraiser. Thanks to our supportive community, the evening was a terrific success with more than 300 patrons choosing to dine either at the fairground or at home. The success of this event was truly the result of a community working together.

Thanks go to Whelen Engineering, Zanardi Oil, Masonicare, Calamari Recycling, and Carr, Douglas & Cline for serving as event sponsors and to the Pattaconk Bar & Grille, Little House Brewing, the Chester Bottle Shop, and the Wheatmarket for their support and contributions. But our biggest thank-you goes to Adams Hometown Market. Adams worked with Rotary from start to finish, securing the lobsters, providing the steaks, cooking the potatoes, preparing the coleslaw and dinner rolls, and even stepping in to help with last minute cancellations. Adams was the definition of a community partner for this event and lived up to its label of “hometown market.”

As we learned yet again last Saturday, good things happen when we all work together.
