Continuity of Experience

I encourage your readers to join me in re-electing Joan Angelini as Westbrook town clerk. The town clerk provides a wide range of essential administrative and operational services for residents and businesses in Westbrook. These include keeping records of board and commission meetings and agendas; maintaining records of real estate transactions; handling vital records (such as marriage licenses, birth and death certificates); issuing absentee ballots, dog licenses, liquor permits, and hunting and fishing licenses; and notarizing documents.

Westbrook voters won’t find a more dedicated public servant than Joan Angelini. In her 16 years serving as town clerk, she has been a clerk for all people regardless of political affiliation. She’s caring, warm, and gracious, and one feels immediately welcome and at ease when entering the Town Clerk’s Office. In the last year, due to COVID, she has worked tirelessly to assist the public with accessing land records, maps, and documents online if they don’t feel comfortable coming into her office.

Over the last 16 years, the Westbrook community has greatly benefited from Joan’s professional affiliations and community involvements. In addition to her credential as a certified municipal clerk, Joan has been an active member (and officer) of various town clerks’ associations at the Middlesex County and state level. In Westbrook, I have the honor of currently serving with Joan on the Board of Directors of the Westbrook Foundation, where she’s Scholarship Committee Chair. She is a former member of the Westbrook Board of Finance, former secretary of the Harbor Commission, and was previously on the boards of other community organizations.

Now more than ever, Westbrook needs the continuity of experience and knowledge that Joan brings to the role of town clerk. I encourage your readers to join me in casting their votes on Nov. 2 for Joan Angelini.
