The Right Choice

For the past four years, Tom Brockett has represented my district, the 7th. During that time, Tom has become a fixture in our community: keeping us informed about important issues, attending hearings on our behalf, and offering his advice and friendship. We don’t want to lose him. But we know that our town will greatly benefit from our loss, so I wish him success in his campaign for first selectman.

What your readers should know about Tom is that he always shows up. If you ask him to attend a meeting, speak at a hearing, or help remove debris from a beach—Tom is there. When he says the words, “my constituents,” you know that he is talking about people he cares deeply about.

You should also know that Tom takes the time to be well informed. He will participate in a meeting that covers complicated issues like zoning regulations, legal stipulations, and statistics and at the end, he will say, “OK, let me summarize what we have learned thus far.” And he is always spot on!

Finally, I think your readers should know that he loves this town. Branford has been his home all his life. He and his children all attended Branford schools. He was the commissioner of Branford Baseball and still finds the time to umpire games. When he walks around town with you, he gives you a history lesson of people and places that made this town great.

Branford is a special town. And that is why I believe Tom Brockett is the right choice to make Branford even better.
