A Shining Light

While we have been living in dark times, there has been a shining light growing in Deep River. A Little Compassion, Inc. (ALC), the nonprofit organization responsible for The Nest Coffee House on Main Street in Deep River, has been lighting the way for young adults with disabilities to help them find employment and social opportunities even as COVID-19 has done its best to isolate us all.

As a founding member on the Board of Directors for ALC, it has been both a privilege and a joy to be a part of this brilliant organization with such a strong and meaningful mission. ALC has been shining a light on the skills and values often overlooked in these young adults so that we, as a community, can grow stronger. On Saturday, Sept. 25 we can all join in lighting the way for people of all abilities by supporting the third annual Water Lantern Celebration at Plattwood Park. Sarah Cody from WTNH will again emcee this moving event and supporters are encouraged to sign up at www.thenestcoffeehouse.org.

I encourage your readers to register now to be a part of this beautiful fundraiser and help to light the way out of the darkness for us all!
