Learning the Truth

The Board of Directors of the Guilford Preservation Alliance (GPA) has voted, without dissent, to support the Board of Education’s initiative on equity and social justice. The GPA is committed to the preservation of our history, and our programs are based on rigorous research, learning, and openness to accepting the results and implications of what we learn. We also believe that engaging others in this process makes our community and our country stronger.

These commitments are the reason why we have provided assistance and support to the installation of Guilford Witness Stones (now Witness to History–Slavery in Guilford projects).

Learning the truth about the past is the best way to prepare our students for the future.
