So Discouraged

We moved to Westbrook 13 years ago and like so many people who love our town, we adopted the spot right underneath the Welcome to Westbrook sign on Route 1 across from the new Vista condominiums at Chapman Beach. This spring, our spot definitely needed some sprucing up, so we added some fresh mulch and planted two beautiful hydrangea bushes. We were so happy that so many people stopped us while we were working as they drove by to offer their thanks and compliment us on how nice the spot looked.

Unfortunately, however, on the night of May 8, both bushes were ripped out of the ground and stolen. We are so discouraged to think that some person or persons would steal from people who are donating their time to make their town look welcoming and beautiful. If anyone has any information regarding this theft, we encourage them to contact the Westbrook Police Department.
