A Clinton Sports Legacy

On a bright and beautiful Saturday, April 24 at Ethel Peters Complex, a Clinton sports legacy was honored and 70 years of Clinton Little League was celebrated. We, Harry Swaun’s family members, were honored, overwhelmed, and grateful to all who made the day possible.

We thank Bob Potter, Joe Schettino, Mike Sutyla, and the entire Park and Rec Commission and staff; the entire Little League community, especially Ricky Moore and Kristy Hoadley; the Town of Clinton Department of Public Works staff; and Willie Fritz’s dedication to the project

We also thank the countless sponsors, donors and volunteers. Their spirit to complete the pavilion project was amazing!

The new pavilion was a vision of Harry Swaun before he passed away on June 1, 2019. It was not just a pick up or drop off location or a hanging out place but the gateway to the fields, fields where kids play ball. That was what Saturdays opening day was all about: Kids playing ball.

Our father did what he did for the passion of doing it, not for credit or accolades. We ask the coaches, parents, families, and ball players to please keep his passion and spirit with them, and remember: Everybody plays!
