Looking Forward to 2022

Prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) 484 had provided our community with a day of entertainment, culminating with a fireworks display, to celebrate our nation’s independence.

Due to the pandemic, the fireworks were canceled for 2020. After much debate and consideration, the VVA, the Fireworks Committee, and the East Haven Veteran’s Council have decided that they will not be involved in the planning and or fundraising for a 2021 event. Our decision was based on the issues of safety, social distancing, and the guidelines set forth by the state and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.

The town has graciously volunteered to take on the task of planning, fundraising, and putting on the event for 2021 and we wish it great success. We would also like everyone to know that we, VVA, Fireworks Committee, and the Veteran’s Council, plan to return in 2022 to commemorate our 20th anniversary of providing the community with another fun filled day of entertainment and fireworks. We look forward to working once again with all the town agencies who are committed to celebrating our countries independence in a safe and meaningful way.
