To Become Culturally Competent

I’m writing to state my support for the Guilford Public School education budget as it stands. I’m specifically supporting the family equity liaison position as well as the Guilford’s participation in the state-wide residency program to hire an aspiring teacher of color while they work toward their teaching credentials.

I would love to see the town support enough aspiring teachers of color for each school in Guilford. Guilford is a wonderful place to live, but in order for our kids to become culturally competent, they must see the broader nationwide demographics reflected in leadership in our town.
