Don’t Change the Beauty

I am Tina Zimmermann, and I have lived at 838 Boston Post Road for more than 20 years. My house is on Birnbaum Lane, two doors from 856 Boston Post Road, where a cluster housing development is proposed.

I love where I live. Three hundred and sixty-five days a year, families, runners, bikers, skateboarders, old and young couples holding hands stroll down Birnbaum Lane. I hear the chatter and the laughter, see the smiles, watch them turn and admire this beautiful part of town filled with quaint and historic homes, a significant part of Madison.

You may view this as commercial, but I do not. This is my block, my home. It needs no more homes, no more cars. Don’t increase the traffic by building clusters of houses so the laughter is drowned out by speeding cars. Don’t change the beauty of our downtown village, my neighborhood. Let our historic residential areas breathe and remain untouched by cluster housing!
