A Major Celebration

The Town of Westbrook is extremely proud that Habitat for Humanity has constructed a home in our community. There was a major celebration on March 14, at the West Beach parking lot commemorating this momentous achievement.

Social distancing was observed by people remaining in their cars and several speakers addressed the participants through an AM radio station. There were approximately 2,168 hours of donated time building the home located on Hammock Road North.

Westbrook businesses gave generously to support this project as did the Westbrook Foundation and the Lee Company. Many other individuals and civic, religious, and community groups also actively supported this initiative. Essex Savings Bank was instrumental in securing the mortgage for this family of six that will occupy the new home.

My congratulations go to Sarah Bird, executive director, and all of the other staff and members associated with Habitat for Humanity.
