Overwhelmed and Overjoyed

During the last year, our community—like others around the world—faced unprecedented challenges in keeping our families and friends safe and healthy. As a result of the pandemic, too many of our neighbors lost jobs or experienced reduced work hours and, as a result, finances for basic needs, such as housing, heat and even food.

At the Branford Food Pantry, as we worked to fill the gap and provide supplemental food assistance, we were overwhelmed and overjoyed by the outpouring of support from our community. We received incredibly generous financial and food donations to ensure that we could meet the ongoing demand for food support. In fact, thanks to this help, we began opening the Food Pantry two Saturday’s a month, effective March 6.

The Branford Food Pantry is a 100-percent volunteer organization, and we could not do what we do without your readers’ support. The Board of Directors would like to thank our town, our friends, donors, and volunteers for working together to help us make a difference in the lives of so many. Whatever residents donate, they should know that their contribution makes a difference for the children, seniors, individuals, and families that come to the Branford Food Pantry every week to get nutritious food support to make ends meet.
