The Spirit of Generosity

This is an overdue thank you to those who participated in the second annual Disc Golf Tournament to benefit Meals on Wheels.

Oct. 17 was a beautiful day, not just because of the weather, but also because of the spirit of generosity that was present that day. The morning began with refreshments generously donated by Dunkin Donuts, followed by a clinic taught by course designer Craig Smolin. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the Rick Maynard Disc Golf Course at Bittner Park and having fun outside while participating in a fun and safe activity. The morning ended with pizza by Naples and a raffle drawing.

Thanks go to all who made this Meals on Wheels fund raiser a success: the golfers, Craig Smolin for his helpful instruction, Rick Maynard and the Park & Recreation Department for allowing the event to take place at The Rick Maynard Disc Golf Course, George Page of Page Insurance for providing the discs, and to the following businesses for contributing raffle prizes: Take the Cake, Oasis Nail Salon, The Previdi System, Jersey Mikes, Hidden Kitchen, Mr. J’s Chinese, Blazin Fresh Donuts, Mojoes Gym, Westwood Wines, Kamana, Guilford Lakes Golf Course, Zuse Printing, Ballous Wine Bar, Unique Fitness by Sarah Celato, Page Hardware, Catherine Kiernan Photography, Pasta Avest, and Mary’s Culinary Company.

Proceeds from this event help us live up to our motto of “neighbor helping neighbor” and serving our Meals on Wheels clients a Thanksgiving meal if needed. Happy Thanksgiving to all.
