Proven Leadership Abilities

Christine Cohen (D-12) is a results-oriented legislator of enormous energy and commitment who has earned another term as our state senator. In the short time she has served in Connecticut’s General Assembly, she has distinguished herself in leadership roles serving as chair of the Environment Committee, vice-chair of the Commerce Committee, the creator and co-chair of the bipartisan Coastal Caucus, and a deputy president pro tempore of the State Senate. Christine was one of five state legislators to receive a 2020 Town Crier Award from the Connecticut Council of Small Towns in recognition of her leadership in advocating for public policies that benefit Connecticut’s small towns like Madison.

I appreciate Senator Cohen’s balanced approach in strengthening Connecticut’s economy. As a small business owner herself, she understands and supports the elimination of unnecessary taxes and regulatory burdens on Connecticut businesses. At the same time, Christine recognizes the needs of workers and their families who deserve livable wages and access to affordable healthcare. She has helped introduce new agricultural opportunities for our state. She believes in creating new jobs while transitioning to a clean energy economy that will help address climate change and provide a sustainable future for our children.
