Integrity, Honesty, and Progress

As members of this community, we will be making important choices come this November. Among them will be the selection of our house representative.

There is a saying in the special needs community: “Professionals are great at identifying the mountains, parents are the power that moves them.” The reason State Representative Noreen Kokoruda (R-101) understands that power is because she personally shares those same Mt. Everest sized mountains!

Over the years I have witnessed firsthand how powerful her voice is for our families who have children with special needs and individuals themselves. She has moved mountains for children with autism; children who are deaf, hard of hearing, and deaf-blind; children with dyslexia; and children with intellectual disabilities, just to name a few. Families of children and individuals with special needs are creating a paradigm shift in how communities view, educate, and employ these persons.

Rep. Kokoruda understands this shift and has done an excellent job serving all her constituents. She has that personal connection that keeps the fire burning to create more-inclusive communities and better access to education as well as early interventions and, most important, meaningful employment.

Rep. Kokoruda’s work at the capital has had positive outcomes not only for my family, but for many others in our community. I urge voters to research her record and review the facts before heading to the polls.

I encourage your readers to re-elect Noreen Kokoruda: a vote for integrity, honesty, and progress.
