Sustainable, Balanced Budgeting

People are calling for a fresh voice in Hartford this year and I could not agree more.

Joe LaPorta is a candidate for the 12th State Senate District who will stand up for what is right and fair for our Madison and Connecticut. The fact is, the tax-and-spend policies of the last 30 years have made Connecticut the second-most indebted state in the nation per capita. Joe is committed to sustainable and balanced budgeting.

It is undeniable that businesses are leaving Connecticut at an alarming rate. Joe knows that tolls are just another business-unfriendly headwind that must be stopped. Hartford already takes more than $70 million per year from Madison residents in the form of income taxes, but that is not enough. Now I believe it is turning to forced regionalization as a way to funnel property tax dollars out of Madison. This needs to be stopped before it is too late. Joe opposes forced regionalizing in all its forms, be it public schools or zoning regulations.

I am proud to endorse Joe LaPorta because I know he will put Madison and the 12th District ahead of party politics. That is change worth fighting for. I encourage your readers to join me in supporting Joe on Nov. 3.
