Respects the Working Family

I am endorsing John Hall for state representative for the 35th District. John is a practical man with good sound common sense. He is the president of Artech Water Systems and the owner of Maple Breeze Farm in Westbrook, a 200-acre working farm that has been in his family since the 17th century. He has known the rigors and hardship of work along with its rewards. He respects the working family and is determined to help it thrive.

He has a long history of community service with 27 years on the Westbrook Zoning Board of Appeals, 25 as chairman, and 11 years on the Board of Selectmen. As a fiscal conservative he supports zero-based budgeting, in which each year department heads’ requests start with zero dollars. Westbrook’s tax increases have been the lowest in the immediate shoreline in recent years. He has also served on the Economic Development Committee.

In 2019, Money Inc. ranked Connecticut as the sixth most expensive state to live in. As a small business owner, John Hall is keenly aware of the odious 350 different taxes and fees. USA Today in 2019 characterized our state as having “an unfavorable business tax climate.”

As president of the Middlesex County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, John is dedicated to conservation and to protecting agricultural rights so that Connecticut residents can have locally owned farms. In the last 10 years, our state has gained 1,000 farms.

He supports law and order and respect for the police who he feels have been unfairly stigmatized. He has been endorsed by the Connecticut Fraternal Order of Police.

John Hall loves Connecticut and would love to work hard for the 35th District in Hartford.
