Record Is Clear

With arguably the most important election in our lifetime just a few weeks away, it is critical that we are electing fair, compassionate, and competent leaders across the board. Over the last four years, we have seen countless EPA rollbacks, a withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accord, and a complete dismissal of climate science, while experiencing historic and devastating wildfires, a warming climate, and rising sea levels. We are in crisis and we must elect leaders who are up to the task at the local level as well as the national level. For the 12th State Senate District, that candidate is Christine Cohen.

Christine Cohen, as Senate chair of the Environment Committee, has passed statewide bans on plastic bags and fracking waste. She created the Coastal Caucus to protect and amplify the voices of our shoreline communities. She created coastal resiliency funds to ensure municipalities have the resources to mitigate the effects of sea level rise. Christine passed a pilot program to explore hemp production, a sustainable and lucrative cash crop. Her record is clear, she knows how Connecticut can do our part in slowing climate change and she knows how to fight through the gridlock in Hartford to make it happen.

We are so fortunate to live in such a vibrant coastal community and we need to elect leaders who will protect our shorelines against the looming threat of climate change. The science is clear—the climate crisis is dire and we cannot afford to kick the can down the road any more. I encourage your readers to vote for Christine Cohen to ensure a healthy, green Connecticut for generations to come.
