10/21/2020 08:00 AMI am writing to encourage readers to vote for Norm Needleman (D) to represent Old Saybrook, Westbrook and the other towns in the 33rd State Senate District on Nov. 3. I have had the pleasure of knowing Norm for nearly 16 years. During that time, I’ve worked with him in his role as a business owner, a volunteer, a town leader, and most recently as our state senator. Norm is a tireless worker who puts other people’s needs before his own. I have seen that in action on countless occasions.
I know that as our state senator, Norm is working to find practical, pragmatic solutions to the issues that are facing our community. Norm is leading the charge to hold Eversource accountable, an issue that he has been front and center on not just in the past few months, but over the last many years in his role as first selectman of the Town of Essex.
As a member of the Old Saybrook Board of Selectman and chair of the Economic Development Commission, I know that Norm is a strong partner for our town. We need his ability to balance both public health and safety and the economic challenges that are facing our state and our citizens as we navigate the COVID crisis.
