Intelligence, Compassion, Pragmatism

As a freshman state senator, Christine Cohen (D-12) has already demonstrated she has the right stuff to get the job done in Hartford. Since taking office in 2019, Senator Cohen has played a critical role in implementing a number of policies and laws to strengthen Connecticut’s economy, environment, healthcare systems, educational institutions, and gun safety measures. Senator Cohen’s small business background, civic and educational experience, and roots in Madison allowed her to start working successfully for our district right out of the gate.

And when COVID hit in March of this year, we had the unique opportunity to witness real-time who in our government was able to lead versus who was meant to follow. Senator Cohen began to lead, and continues to lead, by example. She has been called upon during this time of crisis to make difficult public policy choices in order to better serve the greater good; she has risen to the occasion with intelligence, compassion, and pragmatism.

Senator Cohen has also been extremely action-oriented, often taking the lead on new legislation to solve problems rather than build barriers. She has proven herself to be a great advocate for residents needing access to state government, and she has been a willing listener to town government concerns over important public policy issues. Senator Cohen has also been an advocate for balanced fiscal policies that have served our state well during these difficult economic times and positioned us for a strong recovery.

I encourage Madison residents to join me in re-electing Christine Cohen to be our state senator for the 12th District. She has proven to us she has the leadership skills to serve our community in tough times and will fight to keep our state moving forward.
