Christine is one of the most committed, compassionate, and competent leaders in our government. She has accomplished many noteworthy goals that affect our citizens’ healthcare, the environment, and our economy during her first term.
Christine has created legislation to provide a public option for healthcare and legislation to expand access to healthcare to those with pre-existing conditions.
She serves as co-chair of the bipartisan Coastal Caucus and helped expand the ban on fracking waste, create the Coastal Resiliency fund to mitigate effects of climate change on the shoreline, and impose a ban on plastic bag usage.
Christine proposed a bill that would allow small businesses to have a public option for providing their employees with health insurance. She helped end the business entity tax and the grocery tax.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Christine Cohen has supplied her district with daily updates on COVID cases across the state and by town. She has helped her constituents navigate state and federal programs regarding food security, unemployment, rental assistance, and small business grants. She has shared clear guidelines for absentee voting during COVID. Christine follows the science and supports safe re-opening plans for our schools and businesses.
Christine Cohen is someone who truly cares about the people she serves. As a parent, small business owner, and senator, Christine exemplifies the compassion, integrity, and leadership that we all need right now.
