Compassion and Commitment

State Senator Christine Cohen (D-12) embodies politics as a path toward the common good. When she first ran for senator from the 12th District two years ago, I worked on her campaign, and I saw politics in a new and hopeful light through her steadfast compassion and commitment to enhancing life in our communities. It is an honor to support her re-election.

Sen. Cohen has demonstrated time and again her commitment to work for concrete solutions that have significant impact on our generation and generations to come. All of us living through the twin pandemics of COVID-19 and systemic racism know the personal and economic destruction they have wrought. Throughout, Christine keeps our goals in mind and follows through to keep all of us equally safe and cared for. Her push to ensure that we can vote via absentee ballot, that telehealth appointments can continue, that our federal legislators financially support municipalities through the pandemic, that Black and brown neighborhoods have a sense of increased justice through police accountability, and that our kids are safer through common sense gun laws are just some of the ways that her compassion and commitment have been demonstrated.

In this time of increased political division and rancor, Christine brings an ability to work collegially for the common good and for the aspects of our lives that matter: our environment, our health, our economy, and our safety. She knows us. She comes to our events. She is one of us. We can trust her.

Now, more than ever, we need Christine’s energy and ability to work on behalf of the citizens of Connecticut. I encourage your readers to re-elect Sen. Christine Cohen.
