A Refreshing Alternative

John May’s foresight, awareness, and listening skills are qualities of servant leadership. This is rare today and John’s foundation that supports his passion to advance STEM and apprenticeships in our school system. This is more critical than ever. Why? Right now, there are more than 500,000 unfilled positions in the STEM fields in our country. Connecticut has a shortage of qualified employees to fill these positions. John is acutely aware that this must be addressed and, with John’s history as an educator, understands best how to prepare our students for life after high school while maintaining the viability of business and industry in Clinton, Connecticut, and the United States. John represents our best opportunity to allow students to enter life debt free and still pursue their dreams. SpaceX was not just built by engineers and scientists!

Many students are being guided into college and subsequently taking on enormous debt. Outstanding student loan debt reached an all-time high of $1.41 trillion in 2019. Soaring college costs are a big factor in student loan debt, with out-of-state tuition and fees averaging $26,290 per year for a four-year public university and $35,830 for a private college, according to Investopedia.

What got us here today guarantees nothing for tomorrow! We need to be careful not to fall into the trap of because we’ve always done it this way or there is no way we can improve on that. John always look for a better way by maintaining a fresh set of eyes and an open mind.

For the good of the whole, I encourage your readers to vote for John May, a refreshing alternative for candidate 35th Assembly District Seat.
