A Real-World Perspective

I’m writing in support of John-Michael Parker’s candidacy for state representative. John-Michael is capable, value-drive, and puts his energy and time into issues that are important to our town. Education and youth development is clearly one of these issues. He is a mentor for a Madison ABC scholar, serves on the Board of Madison Youth & Family Services, and is a coach for VIBE, a musical group at Daniel Hand High School. He is currently the executive director of a non-profit dedicated to the arts in education that serves 175,000 students in the Greater New Haven area. His experience in youth education will allow him to bring a real-world perspective to the legislature and make a true, positive difference for Madison students.

John-Michael’s experience as executive director of Arts for Learning CT and previously as vice president of the Futures Project in New York City demonstrate that he has the skills to lead. And, he is committed to lead on issues that are important to Madison residents: affordable health care, the environment, a sustainable shoreline, and a community of respect and tolerance.

I am voting for John-Michael because he represents the values that I care about and that are important to the people of Madison. He is dedicated, positive, and willing to put in the hard work that it takes to make meaningful change.
