A Model of Bipartisanship

In these times of deep political division, State Senator Christine Cohen (D-12) is a model of bipartisanship. She created and co-chairs the bipartisan Coastal Caucus. The caucus protects and enhances the coast for all of us shoreline dwellers regardless of political affiliation.

Her legislative initiatives and the bills she supports reflect the needs and aspirations of all her constituents. She proposed a bill in 2019 to allow small businesses to have a public option for providing employees’ health insurance. As a local small business owner herself, she is especially aware of the struggles of the business community during the pandemic and the unique needs of employees. She is committed to passage of this bill in her second term. Also in 2019 she supported Ethan’s Law, strengthening our gun laws and protecting all our youth.

She recognizes that COVID-19 does not respect party lines and that science is unaffiliated. While providing daily updates on state and district wide COVID cases, she helps constituents access state and federal help for food security, rent assistance, unemployment aid, and small business grants.

As she has supported her constituents, she has earned their support for her re-election. I encourage your readers to vote for Christine Cohen by mail or in person safely.
