Hard Work and Pressure

We are writing to say how great the new train station is looking in downtown Clinton. It is indeed a well-deserved and appreciated improvement to our town. We want to thank Christine Goupil for getting this accomplished. It was through her persistent hard work and pressure that this happened. She was instrumental in the creation of Clinton’s Plan of Conservation and Development that has taken our town in a positive direction.

As first selectman, Christine continued to work for the town when she restructured the town debt, saving our community $700,000 in one year alone, by implementing a policy of no longer bonding capital improvements. It is a policy that is being continued by our new town manager, Mr. Karl Kilduff, to the benefit of Clinton taxpayers.

Christine worked to support the new Clinton Arts Council that is dedicated to bringing art, in its many forms, to the Clinton community, including First Thursdays, fabulous story telling events, community sculpture, and more. We look forward to what the council will accomplish in the future thanks to her support. It is known that where the art is, economic development goes.

We think that Christine Goupil will be a huge asset to the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Killingworth at 35th District state representative as she has intimate knowledge of the workings of the local and state governments and she knows how to get things done for us.
