Experienced, Knowledgeable, and Caring

State Representative Sean Scanlon (D-98) and State Senator Christine Cohen (D-12) are experienced, knowledgeable, and caring and have earned another term in office. I encourage my fellow citizens to vote for these two public servants on Nov. 3.

Senator Cohen and Representative Scanlon do not shy away from difficult issues such as protecting people with pre-existing conditions, mental health parity, opioid abuse, controlling prescription drug costs (particularly the price of insulin and diabetic supplies), gun violence, environmental issues, and helping the small businesses of our state. They are meticulous legislators who have worked on behalf of their constituents to improve the lives of the hard-working people of our state, working cooperatively with members on the other side of the aisle and earning the respect of their colleagues in the legislature and the community.

In recent months, both have worked hard in reaching out to the communities they serve with regular social media updates on power outages, COVID-19, and other issues that affect our lives. Office hours and town halls were a mainstay in their constituent outreach pre-pandemic, but always the people of their districts were at the forefront of their minds in how to best serve them.

In a world that is particularly polarized, Representative Scanlon and Senator Cohen are the beam of light in a dark field. They rise above political pettiness to work hard for people. They have the unique ability to engage an entire community especially during the scary times we are all living through. These are just some of the many reasons I am encouraging my fellow citizens to vote for Christine Cohen and Sean Scanlon and return them to the General Assembly. We need their work ethic and guiding hand through these uncertain times.
