Now, more than ever before, our community needs a strong voice in Hartford—an advocate for our schools, small business owners, senior citizens, and for the protection of Long Island Sound.
For four years, I had the honor and privilege of representing the 12th Senate District in the Connecticut General Assembly. I know what it takes to be an effective legislator. I am so proud of our local electorate for having the wisdom to select someone of the caliber, intellect, and dedication of Christine Cohen to succeed me.
Christine knows that strong schools are pivotal to a community’s success, and she is a powerful voice for teachers, students, and parents. She has led Connecticut’s economic growth efforts to expand our local bioscience cluster, promoted greater access to home and community-based care as an alternative to nursing homes, and protected small businesses in the face of COVID. As Senate chair of the Environment Committee, she is the protector of our natural resources and leader on issues from fracking waste disposal, stronger water pollution control, and reduction of single-use plastics.
Christine is an effective and articulate advocate for our small towns and brings with her a political philosophy based upon practical, common sense solutions, optimism, open mindedness, and a civil, bipartisan ethic that has earned her the admiration and respect of her senate colleagues on both sides of the political aisle. She holds countless Town Hall meetings throughout the district and is very responsive to citizen concerns. Her intellect, job-creating skill set, dedication, and deep community relationships will continue to serve her exceedingly well in the State Senate. I plan to vote for Christine Cohen, and I hope that your readers will, too.
