Thanks from the Friends

On behalf of the Friends of the James Blackstone Memorial Library, I’d like to thank all of our donors of gently used books, our patrons, and our volunteers for supporting our very successful alternative book sale fundraiser.

We were unable to safely host our large tent book sale on our Town Green this September, but our volunteers did not give up. We came up with a creative alternative—warehouse book sales with different genres of books over five weekends—to keep everyone as safe as possible, raise funds for the Blackstone Library, while also providing a way to make gently used books available to our community. During our warehouse sales, we received warm words of appreciation and gratitude from our patrons who shopped. These words were very much appreciated. It was so nice to see many familiar faces.

We also know that many of our volunteers and patrons were unable to attend due to the COVID-19 virus. We missed them. Continue to stay safe—we wish to see everyone all at our book sale next year, and hopefully again under the big tent on the Town Green!
