Hard Work and Discipline

I am supporting Dave Yaccarino for the position of 99th District State Representative. This district covers East Haven from the north side of Bennett Road in Foxon across our town to the beautiful shore.

From my past political experience, I know a good candidate when I see one. Dave as a youth applied himself to hard work and good study disciplines to become an eagle scout. He went on to graduate from North Haven High School, Boston College, with a bachelors degree of science in biology, and then Quinnipiac for his masters degree of science in molecular cell biology .

When elected, he will work to protect unions and their right to collective bargaining at the state level. Also he wants to help workers to organize and join private unions, he realizes the weakening of unions since the 1970s has led to lower wages and lesser health coverage for working-class people. He would fight for strong limits on out-of-pocket cost for prescription drugs and deductibles. He will support a strong public insurance option for small businesses and people who don’t get insurance through their jobs. His opponent State Representative Joe Zullo (R-99) voted against a public option last year in House Bill 7267. Now this opponent is telling voters he will work across the aisle to lower costs, just to get votes, but when he had a chance to do just that, he didn’t.

Dave realizes the tax burden is on the backs of the middle-class workers in Connecticut and we have some of the richest people in the country living here. He will fight to have them pay their fair share.

I encourage your readers to vote Democratic for Dave Yaccarino in November.
