Commitment Is Unwavering

I am neither Republican or Democratic, I’m independent. Like many of my neighbors, I am tired of the hardline partisan positions and retaliatory gamesmanship displayed in both the Republican and Democratic parties and I don’t want to associate with either one. In the last four years, I believe many voters have chosen to cast a vote not in favor of a candidate but against a party.

On Nov. 6, Bob Siegrist lost his seat as the representative of the 36th District to our General Assembly by 212 votes. During 2016-’18, Bob had a 100 percent voting record;worked tirelessly for the residents of the 36th District; attended every possible event in Chester, Deep River, Essex, and Haddam as a means to personally listen to his constituency; spent his nights and weekends working round the clock to find ways to improve our communities and way of life; and put 100 percent of himself into his role. Every email, every letter, and every phone call to his office received a timely response because he knew he was our voice in Hartford.

Bob voted his conscience without regard to political party or affiliation. He crossed party lines, worked with his peers to find a middle ground, and treated everyone with respect. Bob lost the 2018 election because of his party affiliation.

I have and will continue to support Bob and hope your readers will, too. Bob’s voting record is public, his stances are clear, his views are reasonable, his commitment to the people is unwavering. I believe Bob represents my core values and those of my family and community and he has my vote. I encourage your readers to join me in returning Bob Siegrist to office so he can continue the good work he started in 2016.
