Providing Competent Leadership

I support the re-election of Christine Palm for state representative in the 36th Assembly District. Representative Palm has demonstrated her commitment to protect the environment by co-sponsoring bills that directly affect the Connecticut River. These include a bottle bill, a bill banning plastic bags, and a bill targeting invasive species, such as phragmites, which are so destructive to Connecticut waterways. She also sponsored bills calling for a climate change curriculum in the schools, and banning commercial seismic surveying along the Connecticut coastline.

Representative Palm’s concern for her constituents is also evident in her comprehensive response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Her weekly reports provided essential information to cope with all aspects of the pandemic. Volunteers made hundreds of wellness calls throughout the late winter and early spring to support local residents and to assess their needs. Representative Palm responded daily to her constituents’ concerns about job loss and financial insecurity, family illness, housing, education, child care issues, small business viability, and debt relief.

To Representative Palm, support of local residents is a personal issue, not just a responsibility. She is a passionate advocate for her constituents and is committed to providing competent leadership to improve their healthcare, employment opportunities, finances, family needs, education, and the environment.

Every vote counts. Voting early makes good sense. I hope your readers will join me in voting for State Representative Christine Palm.
