Energy, Enthusiasm, and Ideas

When John-Michael Parker arrived on my doorstep in 2018, I was impressed by his energy, enthusiasm, and ideas. As a candidate to be state representative for the 101st District, he was riding his bike to meet with as many voters as possible in Madison and South Durham to find out what was important to them.

By a handful of votes, John-Michael lost his bid in 2018 to be state representative, and that provided me with additional insights into his character. When John-Michael feels strongly about an issue, righting a wrong, or making a difference in people’s lives, he doesn’t give up. John-Michael is running again to represent the people of District 101, and he has my enthusiastic support.

John-Michael grew up in Madison, attended Madison Public Schools, and has been very active in the community. He knows what makes this a special place to live. Based on his work in the community, and listening to people’s concerns, he knows what needs to be done to make things even better.

He is an educator and currently executive director of Arts for Learning Connecticut, the state’s largest arts in education provider. He worked in Madison Public Schools. He understands how important a high-quality school system is to the overall health of our community. He also knows that a healthy community provides its seniors with the support and resources they need —and he will fight hard for us as well.

John-Michael listens. He cares, knows how to collaborate with others to get things done, and works very hard. We need him working on our behalf in Hartford. He deserves your readers’ votes to be our next state representative.
