Making Trail Progress

On behalf of the East Haven Town Team of Shoreline Greenway Trail, I am pleased and grateful to report East Haven is now making trail progress thanks to Mayor Joseph Carfora and his administration.

Assistant Director of Administration and Management Michelle Benivegna, working closely with the Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT), organized a selection panel, interviewed five firms, and ultimately selected BL Companies for the design phase to extend Shoreline Greenway Trail westward to Cosey Beach Avenue. This effort will utilize federal/state grant funds for East Haven Shoreline Greenway Trail. Mayor Carfora and Michelle Benivegna anticipate BL team members will present the design to the public late fall or early winter.

In addition, we are pleased to report, the mayor, per an agreement with DOT recently directed East Haven Public Service Department to extend the completed Shoreline Greenway Trail at the former site of D.C. Moore School 400 feet to Elliot Street. We are excited to share this good news and will continue to share updates.

We encourage your readers to continue to enjoy the intrinsic beauty of the trail with its many health, recreational, and environmental benefits, while practicing social distancing guidelines.
