Kindness, Consideration, and Safety

I encourage your readers to tell their teens to wear their masks when ordering food at the food stand at Madison’s Surf Club beach, and also to tell them to follow directions on the restaurant’s sign: Wear a mask and one person only on the platform for food ordering and food pick up. On my recent three visits to the Surf Club food vendor, groups of teens were on the restaurant platform and not one of them was wearing a mask.

Masks are worn to protect other nearby people. Kindness, consideration of others, and safety are why we all should wear a mask when social and physical distancing is not possible. Standing in line for food and ordering food puts each of us in close contact with others and with the employees taking orders.

I remember from raising teenagers that they may feel invincible or that they may not understand the risks they and others face. I encourage your readers to help their teens follow the rules and keep our community members safe during the pandemic.
