A Gap Remains

The Dudley Foundation and its Board of Directors would like to thank the people of Guilford and surrounding towns for the support they have shown The Dudley Farm Museum and the Dudley Farm Farmers’ Market during this time of great uncertainty. The monetary gifts we received during The Great Give helped to reduce the financial gap that resulted when we were forced to cancel workshops, programs, and the rental of our Munger Barn for various community and personal events, but a substantial gap remains.

It has been estimated that one in eight museums world-wide will close permanently as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We will not be one of them, and indeed are planning for our re-opening Wednesday, July 1. Our farmers’ market has already opened with a variety of food stuffs and crafts available for the public to buy every Saturday morning. As our museum re-opens, we ask visitors to remember that masks and social distancing are required. Touring groups will be limited in size to five people, and there will be hand sanitizer available on the porch to be used before entering.

We invite all to visit our museum and learn how The Dudley Farm of the 19th century was built on the entrepreneurship and initiative of Erastus Dudley, and explore our beautiful grounds and outbuildings. And again, we thank everyone for their support.
