Bad News and Good News

I heartily disagree with John Parunak’s April 30 letter to the editor [“Mindlessly Insensitive”] regarding his perceived negativity of Ambassadors for Christ advertising.

By the way, its ad in the April 30 issue said: “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His mercy endures forever.” So, all religions have bad news and good news. We of a free country have the right to publicly express our beliefs in speaking and writing. And I appreciate your publishing these ads.

Ambassadors for Christ expresses a religion called Christianity. I am not a member of this particular group (I am Catholic), but Christianity, with varied styles, covers a basic belief: that people, good and created by God, are also sinners, and God loved the world, sent his son Jesus who died to save us, rose from the dead, and will come again. Protestants, Catholics, Evangelicals, etc., are one in this faith.

Also, from what I see, Christians are among the most charitable people, doing good for others. That is living the faith.
