The Neighborly Thing
Families just do not know what they’ll be able to afford, when the air that we all breathe is cleared of this toxic coronavirus pandemic.
A few weeks ago, Madison was looking for millions upon millions of dollars from the town’s property taxpayers with an increased annual town operating budget, increased school district budget, and borrowing referendums for school renewal (including new construction and demolition), and a new community center.
Additionally, insiders have leaked that the town has aspirations for a new building for its Youth & Family Services Department.
In my opinion, it is selfish to tell people that you are raising their taxes. The neighborly thing to do here is to simply vote “No” to everything, if we do get the opportunity to vote at all.
