Transparent, All Right

The great communicator, First Selectman Peggy Lyons, showed her true colors at the Feb. 24 Board of Selectmen meeting when she slipped in a motion to set a date for the Academy School referendum without posting it as part of the agenda in advance.

This is what people hate about politicians: They criticize their opponents for anything they can think of and then behave far worse. Former first selectman Tom Banisch would never have tried to railroad Madison the way she is doing, all the while proclaiming how transparent her administration is.

She’s transparent, all right. I can see right through her!

This is what we wrought when we changed course last November. Peggy and her Democratic colleagues should start to shoot square with our residents or resign and let someone who is honest sit in their chairs.
