Inappropriate for Publication

The first time I saw the full-page ad for handguns in the Valley Courier, I too felt it was inappropriate for publication in a community newspaper. This ad was bold and focused on hand guns, ammo, and reloading.

A day doesn’t go by without some news of a mass shooting that targets innocent people. I am fully aware of Second Amendment rights, but do we really need to promote handguns whose main purpose is to kill people?

I also wondered why a North Branford business was advertising in a publication whose circulation is Essex, Chester, and Deep River.
