With regard to your Dec. 5 article “BOE Drafts New Hate Speech Policy,” the Board of Education should consider making The Half Has Never Been Told: Slavery and the Making of American Capitalism by Edward Baptist required reading for every Guilford High School junior and senior. That will open eyes. And perhaps minds.
I only wish this book had been written when I was in high school.
