An Unflattering Portrait

On Oct. 23, I observed State Representative Sean Scanlon (D-98) being disrespectful to some of his constituents. He was pulled up to the gas pump at the gas station on the corner of Boston Post Road and River Road. Cars were in line behind him as he talked for quite a long time on his cell phone. When someone called him out, he said that he was now finished and would pump gas.

This is the kind of arrogance that unfortunately is all too prevalent with today’s politicians. So many seem to forget that they work for us. People on their way home from work and stopping for gas shouldn’t have to wait while Sean Scanlon talks on his phone. His seeming lack of remorse just added to an unflattering portrait of our state representative.

He showed himself to be someone I won’t vote for again. I’d prefer a representative who models the best of Connecticut.
