Start Locally

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, we all need to vote. Every election is important, but this one is critical to Madison’s future. Unfortunately, we are all aware that Connecticut is in trouble and headed in the wrong direction. Businesses and jobs are moving out. Our seniors are being forced to move to states where they can afford to live. This last state budget with so many new taxes has certainly shown us that our state government continues down an unsustainable path.

We need to start turning this state around and it has to start locally. This election each of us has to use our vote to show Hartford that we are ready to stand up to them. With one town at a time, we need to send a message that we want our state back. We want a state where our families thrive, where our seniors are able to live with dignity, and where opportunity exists for all. There is no fiscal restraint in Hartford. It has to start with each of us.

I’m voting for Tom Banisch for first selectman. He is already standing up to the damaging proposals coming from Hartford. I’m also voting for Justin Murphy and Fillmore McPherson for our Board of Finance, two men who will bring skill and experience to countering the fiscal irresponsibility of our state leaders. All across Connecticut we need to vote to send a message and to start to take Connecticut back.
