Smart, Successful, and Accomplished

On Nov. 5, Branford will hold elections to decide who will represent its citizens in the Representative Town Meeting, the legislative branch of our town’s government. I live in the 5th District, where I vote at the Indian Neck School. And this Election Day, I will be casting my vote for three dynamic Democratic women: Tracy Everson, Kathi Traugh, and Laura Noe. Each of these women is smart, successful, and accomplished, and each has her own impressive résumé.

Tracy, a local realtor, serves as vice-president/membership chair of the Friends of the Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library, as first vice-president of the Thimble Islands Association, as a liaison from the Thimble Islands Association to the Stony Creek Association, and as a member of a Coastal Vulnerability Working Group.

Kathi currently serves on the RTM. She is intimately familiar with town government as she held several elected offices when she lived in Madison, including a position on the Board of Selectmen. In addition to her public service work, Kathi has a longstanding career in the continuing education branch of Yale’s School of Public Health. She has successfully juggled these roles with her first love: being a mother and grandmother.

Laura, also a mother, is a published author who has written about her many travels with her son, as well as the love for her brother. The creator of the First Amendment Wall at the Blackstone Library, she is also a member of the Branford Green Committee and is on the board for the Branford Early Childhood Collaborative.

It’s exciting to be able to choose these effective and energetic women to represent the 5th District in our local government. I encourage your readers in the 5th to do the same!
