Smart and Responsible Planning

I’m writing in support of Shubert Koong’s candidacy for Chester’s Planning & Zoning Commission Alternate position. Shubert is an active Chester citizen dedicated to serving and representing his fellow residents for the common good of our town. Shubert and his wife Samantha chose Chester as the place to raise their family for its safe neighborhoods, excellent schools, and the unique character of the town. Their son currently attends school in Chester.

Shubert has more than 20 years’ experience as a marketing professional, working for iconic companies such as HP, PayPal, and Chase. He specializes in business development and solving difficult business problems for technology companies and driving measurable results.

Contributing back to the community has been a strong value in Shubert’s life, as he volunteered over the past 20 years with such diverse organizations as Trips for Kids, San Jose Municipal Rose Garden, and the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy. Currently Shubert serves as Chester’s representative on the State of Connecticut Central Regional Tourism Board, and is a volunteer with Chester Elementary PTO. He earned a B.A. from Yale University and a master’s in business administration from the University of California, Berkeley.

Shubert’s focus is on smart and responsible planning and assessment of zoning regulations, supporting businesses and taking on important issues that impact the growth of our town while preserving Chester’s character and natural environment. As a former member of the Planning & Zoning Commission, I know just how important the work of this committee is to the future of Chester. I believe that he has the skills to contribute and work collaboratively on the Planning & Zoning Commission. I encourage your readers to join me in voting for Shubert Koong for Chester’s Planning & Zoning Commission Alternate position on Election Day.
