Served Effectively and Sensibly

I am writing in support of Richard Strauss, who is an incumbent candidate on Chester’s ballot this Nov. 5 for office on the Board of Finance. Richard currently serves as an alternate on the board and is now running as a full member.

Richard is a longtime resident of Chester and has a long history of volunteer service in our town. He has served our community effectively and sensibly over the years with true dedication to our community. Anyone who has worked with Richard knows he takes the time and puts in the necessary effort to be fully informed. Not only does Richard serve on the Board of Finance, but he regularly attends and participates in Region 4 and Supervision District meetings. In recent years, the town has faced a number of important issues; Richard’s thoughtful insights and his dedication and passion for Chester have rendered his many contributions invaluable. Richard’s extensive professional business, financial, administrative, and municipal budget experience, combined with his intimate knowledge of Chester, makes him uniquely qualified to continue to serve our community as a full member of the Board.

Strauss formerly served on multiple boards and commissions, including member and Chair of the Board of Finance, member of Region 4 Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, WPCA, and the Town Office Building Committee. He is retired executive director at the Connecticut Academy of Sciences & Engineering. I will be voting for Richard Strauss on Nov. 5, and encourage my fellow voters in Chester to do the same.
