Passion and Experience

Robert Hartmann is running for a seat on Guilford’s Board of Finance (BOF) in November, and we couldn’t have a better candidate.

The BOF has such an important function in our town government, holding the purse strings as it does. We all want to maintain the wonderful town that Guilford is, but do so in an efficient and prudent way. We need to ensure our tax dollars are well spent, our town remains solvent, and our taxes are under control, especially while Hartford is not.

We know that Connecticut’s small towns are increasingly under financial stress, with all taxpayers in the firing line. Guilford needs solid fiscally responsible professionals on our BOF, and Bob is the perfect candidate for this position. He will bring his passion for serving this community along with his professional experience from a career in the world of finance. Currently he is the owner of a tax consultancy, providing personal tax preparation service here in Guilford. Previously he had a career of more than 30 years with major international financial institutions.

Bob has demonstrated his commitment to our town by his selfless service to our community in many capacities. These are too many to list, but they include serving on the Town Pension Committee and the Facilities Task Force, as president of Guilford Keeping Society and Guilford Rotary Club, and on the board of the Guilford Community Fund.

It is critically important to get the best bang for our buck and see our tax dollars well spent. Robert Hartmann clearly has both the passion and experience, and will work to ensure this is so.

I’m sure all your readers want the very best for our town, so I encourage them to elect Robert Hartmann to our BOF on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
