Not a Fluke

The Courier’s informative coverage of Guilford’s upcoming municipal elections is a valuable public service. It would be unfortunate, however, if the fact that all nine open seats are uncontested led voters to skip going to the polls on Election Day.

Our friends and neighbors volunteer their time to serve on town boards and commissions for the common good. They need and deserve to know that their fellow citizens value their contributions highly enough to cast a ballot. We can all take pride in the knowledge that Guilford had one of the highest rates of voter turnout in the state in last fall’s election.

On Nov. 5, let’s show our local officials that it wasn’t a fluke.
